Tyngsborough Police Department Responds to Multi-Vehicle Crash

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash this afternoon.

On Saturday, Sept. 3 at approximately 3:47 p.m., Tyngsborough Police and Fire responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash at 147 Frost Road.

Upon arrival first responders observed what appeared to be a head-on collision between a Toyota Tundra occupied by four passengers, two adults and two children, and a Toyota Corolla occupied by three adult female passengers.

Two occupants in the Toyota Corolla were transported by medical helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital. The third occupant of the vehicle was transported by Tyngsborough EMS ambulance to Lowell General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

All four occupants of the Toyota Tundra were transported by ambulance to Lowell General Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The identities of those involved are not available at this time.

Frost Road remains closed at this time, and State Police Reconstruction Team is on scene.

The crash is under investigation by Tyngsborough Police and the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.
