Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department, as a result of a joint investigation conducted with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Law Enforcement Division, arrested a Tyngsborough man on a warrant charging animal cruelty.
ADEVALTER MAJESKY, AGE 50, OF TYNGSBOROUGH, was arrested on a warrant from Lowell District Court charging him with:
- Animal Cruelty
- Animal Cruelty by Custodian
On Monday, Oct. 24, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Tyngsborough Police responded to 32 Willowdale Road to assist the MSPCA Law Enforcement Division with an investigation into a report of an injured pony.
An investigation determined the pony noted in the initial report was okay, but while on scene at 32 Willowdale Road, MSPCA investigators and Tyngsborough Police saw in plain sight a thoroughbred horse that was injured and having trouble standing up.
The MSPCA Law Enforcement department arranged for a veterinarian, as well as equine specialist from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, who arrived on scene to evaluate the thoroughbred. The veterinarian determined the thoroughbred was suffering from sepsis and several severe injuries of various natures, and needed to be humanely euthanized immediately.
The thoroughbred was humanely euthanized on scene and transported to The University of Connecticut for a necropsy. MAJESKY, who was already known to MSPCA investigators, was determined to be the owner and caretaker of the thoroughbred.
On Wednesday, Oct. 26, as a result of the joint investigation, MSPCA Law Enforcement Officer Tia Devallon obtained a warrant for MAJESKY‘s arrest from Lowell District Court. Tyngsborough Police and MSPCA Law Enforcement took MAJESKY into custody on Wednesday afternoon.
MSPCA Law Enforcement Chief Tom Grenham applauded the Tyngsborough Police Department for its help in the investigation.
“This was the epitome of cooperation between two law enforcement departments and I thank Chief Howe and all of his officers,” said Chief Grenham.
“I want to thank Tyngsborough Police Detectives and the MSPCA Law Enforcement Division for their thorough and diligent work on this case,” said Chief Howe.
MAJESKY is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Lowell District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
